Transformer submerged in rain water in PH (photos)

The transformer on Geodetic Road, Rumuomasi. Port Harcourt is submerged in rain water every time it rains. This, I think, is dangerous to humans who walk in the area. Residents of the area also say this causes power outage. Can the right authority do something about this? See more photos after the cut..

Buhari is Petroleum minister: President to oversee ministry

The announcement of the ministerial nominees at the plenary session of the Senate on Tuesday, October 6, was greeted with mixed feelings as most Nigerians reacted that President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list didn’t exactly reflect the promised change.

The speculation that some prominent Nigerians would make the list became negated when their names were not among those announced during the session.

Below are 6 prospective nominees that lost out in President Buhari’s ministerial list:

1. Prof. Pat Utomi
Rumour had it that the technocrat was enlisted to fill the vacuum left by erstwhile minister of finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

2. Abike Dabiri- Erewa
The president was urged by students under the aegis of the National a$$ociation of Students of English and Literary Studies (NASELS) to draft Abike Dabiri into his cabinet.

Dabiri, was a former TV personality and member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Constituency in Lagos state. She anchors the weekly NTA Newsline programme.

3. Femi Falana (SAN)
Human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN) was rumoured to have been picked by President Buhari to emerge as the next Minister of Justice and the Attorney-General of the Federation.

4. Olagunsoye Oyinlola
A one-time secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the APC shortly before the Osun state governorship election and he is a close a$$ociate of Obasanjo.

He was also listed among those that would be on Buhari’s ministerial list.

5. Chukwuma Soludo
Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo was reported to have been presented by former president Olusegun Obasanjo as the possible Minister of Finance for President Buhari’s administration.

6. Obiageli Ezekwesili
Popularly known as ‘Madam Due Process’, both supporters and haters were disappointed as her name was missing from President Buhari’s ministerial list.

Ezekwesili had been linked with several fake ministerial lists which were circulated online and most Nigerians believed she would be called to serve.
